Sarah Hill, CEO of IDAS said: “We are pleased to be part of the UK Says No More national campaign. As the leading provider of specialist support services in Yorkshire we are aware of the significant and harmful impacts of domestic abuse and violence.

Domestic abuse is widespread in the UK and campaigning in this way will encourage people to stand together and say enough is enough. Campaigning and awareness is also crucial in ensuring that victims and survivors are able to come forward and access the vital support they need.”

Each year, IDAS receive more than 2,000 calls to their 24-hour confidential helpline, provide direct support to more than 4,000 people including 3,000 families with children. This number will increase with service delivery in Barnsley.

IDAS’ services can be accessed via a confidential helpline, Live Chat, email support, and through the Outreach service, Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) and Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA). As well as emotional support, IDAS teams carry out extensive risk assessments and safety planning, one to one support and group sessions. ISVAs and IDVAs can offer practical support around both the criminal and civil courts.
