Responding to Sexual Violence

Sexual Violence can impact anyone at any point of their life regardless of their age, gender, social background, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, disability or sexuality.

Sexual Violence is a term used to encompass any type of unwanted sexual act or activity. There are many forms of Sexual Violence including rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse and many others.

Worldwide stats show that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men will experience sexual violence in their lifetime.

If someone you know has experienced sexual violence, there are options available for them to report the crime and/ or to access specialist support.

It is important to remember it is never a survivor’s fault and they have the choice and control over what they want to do next. Whatever they choose to decide is okay.
