NO MORE Week 2021: Take part in fun run to support domestic abuse survivors

UK SAYS NO MORE is calling on its supporters to take part in a virtual fun run to raise awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

We are asking the public to strap on their running shoes and head out on a 5 or 10km run at any point during the international NO MORE Week, which takes place from Sunday 7 March to Saturday 13 March. The week coincides with International Women’s Day.

We are encourage those running 5km to try and raise a minimum of £50, and those running a 10km to try and raise £100. All funds raised will go towards supporting women and children who are affected by domestic abuse.

Register to take part in the NO MORE fun run here.

Money raised will support women in children living in Hestia’s domestic abuse refuges. Hestia is one of the largest providers of domestic abuse support in London and the south east, working to help women and children recover from their experience.

During Covid-19, home has not been a safe place for everyone. Hestia’s report ‘Domestic Abuse in Lockdown’ shows an almost 50 per cent increase in users of the Bright Sky support app and a near 40 per cent jump in the number of people trying to access their domestic abuse services.

The need to support those experiencing domestic abuse is all the more urgent during the pandemic. We hope you will join us in taking action and making a difference.

Your safety is important to us, and we all have a role in slowing the spread of COVID-19. If you are participating outside, please be sure to keep your distance, wear a mask, and only walk or run on your own or with members of your household. Please follow all COVID-19 safety guidelines required by the government.
