Merton’s One Stop Shop

Merton Council Partner with UK SAYS NO MORE

The Safer Merton partnership set up the One Stop Shop in 2010 after identifying the need for one venue to support victims of domestic violence and abuse. It is now well established and the service is celebrating its sixth anniversary this year.

The One Stop Shop runs every Monday morning, apart from Bank Holidays, between 9.30am and 12.00pm at Morden Baptist Church in Morden.

The One Stop Shop brings together a number of organisations that can offer support and advice to victims of domestic violence and abuse. The agencies are Wimbledon Solicitors and TV Edwards Solicitors who offer legal advice, an IDVA is there to offer support, Police community safety unit to offer advice on the police process, IKWRO who support victims and support workers from the family centre ensuring children and families have support.

More than 1,300 reports of domestic violence and abuse were made to Merton Police in the last 12 months to 2 August.  The One Stop Shop has supported 1,209 people since it started six years ago.
